SAM-FS uses a configuration file called the mcf file.
We are currently working on a utility
to assist in the creation of this file. If you would like a beta
version (does not create the entries for disks) then download
find_devs.
To run the find_devs program:
- ensure that all devices have no media mounted.
- ensure that libraries have at least one media.
- install SAM-FS (if not already installed).
- uncompress and untar the find_devs program.
- as root, run the find_devs program.
After all the
drives have been identified,find_devs will go through the libraries loading
each drive in turn. When finished, it will display information about
what was discovered and print a mcf file that can be edited to suit your
needs (you will need to add the disk entries).
